Settling In

Week 2
Hard to believe, but as I write this Rylan is already over 2 weeks old! We are certainly learning that parenthood is a rollercoaster, but (as evidenced by me having time for a quick update) we are doing great right now! We had a longer week last week with some weight concerns with Rylan topped off by me getting sick. Needless to say, we had a doctor's appointment today and he weighs 9lbs 9oz --- a VERY hearty gain since last week when he had dropped to 8lbs even. We are thrilled to have our healthy, BIG baby back and will try hard not to complain about the weight of that car seat!
Rylan does pretty well at night- I think compared to some stories I've heard we got it pretty good!
So here are the pictures from the week:

Kelly's friend Erin visited

 The Fields Family with Rylan

Rylan in his favorite toy - an awesome swing that Jason's parents gave us-- getting lots of use since he likes to keep moving!

First Bath!! First try was not his favorite- since then he has learned that he LOVES bath time! What he doesn't like is getting out of the bath -- talk about a great set of lungs :)

After bath time we have cuddle time in his bathrobe. He settles right down when dinner arrives!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY! Rylan got all dressed up to show off for his dad. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with the Bogart's and a delicious dinner with the Jacobs family.

Rylan met another friend- Lane Collier! Lane is about 6 weeks older than Rylan. It's crazy to see how alert and adjusted Lane is-- I can't believe Rylan will change that much in just a few weeks.

Grumpy face - blackmail for later in life?

Time with Goldy - Did you know Goldy ROCKS?!

Crazy hair - I swear even in the last few days it keeps getting lighter and crazier! It doesn't matter how much water/combing/spit I use, it's a mess!

This is literally the closest Zulu has gotten to Rylan- she has no interest in him at the moment. She's a great dog, so I knew there wouldn't be issues. She does seem a little put out by the whole baby situation!

Pirate eye! It's not uncommon to find Rylan sneeking one eye open to check things out. If not amused, he just goes back to sleep!

We went on our first camping adventure! (OK not really camping - just visiting my parents campsite). Here is Rylan with his grandpa and great grandpa!

Rylan waving to the camera - Thanks for visiting the blog...we'll continue to update as he grows!
